Using The Standard QRS Test Roll
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, Partly in response to the thread about piano tuners who tune
player pianos, and partly because it's just good-to-know information,
I've just finished creating a new web page that explains many of the
things that can checked/tested when using the QRS Test Roll, see:

"Using The Standard QRS Test Roll"
(The Player Piano Technician's Most Important Tool)
  http://www.player-care.com/testroll.html

As I got into writing the page, I realized that I always check much
more than just the operation of each note when I run the test roll.
It's funny how you sometimes get so accustom to 'just doing things'
that you really don't think about each individual thing that you're
checking and testing.

I've tried to present the information in such a way that everyone can
understand it, even if they have no prior experience with a player
mechanism. Over time, I may add more information and/or links to
existing 'Testing the Player' pages.

(See: http://www.player-care.com/test_me.html)

Comments and Suggestions are always welcomed.

Musically,

John A. Tuttle
