Piano Tuning Pins Secured with Brass Wedges

Hi John,  The Wurlitzer piano you described has a pin design from the
Beal Piano Company of Australia.  The patent was used into the 1970s
when the company went out of business.  Australian technicians have
tuned many pianos with this design.  They also have noticed they hold
tune very well.  There is a recent patent by a Australian company that
uses an all-metal pin block.
