Seek Welte Roll 767 by Gustav Mahler
By John McClelland

I received a call from Ken Caswell earlier this week inquiring as to
the availability of a Welte roll played by Gustav Mahler. It is #767,
"Ging heut' morgen uebers Feld", from Song Cycle 4 # 2. I don't have
it, so I suggested I would check with MMDers to see if anyone has a
copy.

About 10 years ago we offered a Licensee recut series that included
the other three Mahler rolls (they were originally in T-100 Red format,
as I recall) but we were unable to ferret out this one.

I'd like to borrow the roll and make a copy. Any reasonable bond is
offered as guarantee of return. I would also include a recut copy of
the original roll in either Red or Licensee format. Ken was contacted
by a gentleman in France who is working on a Mahler biography (which
has now run to 5 volumes) and was referred to Ken as one of the
ancient(?) Welte collectors, perhaps with knowledge or possession of
the roll.

Thanks,
John McClelland
