In response to the questions of Doug Mauldin, I can reassure him there
is nothing wrong with his ears nor with the recordings or his record
turntable!

Like all Gavioli organs, most of Carl Frei's organs (surely "De Duif"
and "De Tiet") are transposing with a minor third, so not two semitones
as Doug experiences, but three semitones. So the highest melody note F
sounds as A flat, C sounds as E flat, C# as E, D as F etc.  The reason
why Frei did that, like Gavioli, was that the organs sound brighter.

The LP record of the organ "De Duif" (Dutch Band Organ) was made
February 8, 1960, in Amsterdam.  Unfortunately the Trombone section was
not playing because Moehlmann (the owner) could not tune them in time.
