Converting Orchestrelle to Play 88-Note Rolls
By Randolph Herr

I would like advice and opinions on the possibility of converting
an Orchestrelle to play 88-note rolls. Purists need not cringe; if
any work is done, no drilling or sawing of any kind will be performed.
New parts will be made to replace existing ones necessary to the
conversion, and the original parts will be preserved. This way, it
can be restored to its original form with no indication that any
changing was ever done.

Also, would the work be essentially the same for all models of
Orchestrelles? Finally, can anyone provide a listing of the different
models and their corresponding size? Reading about the Models A, S,
W, Y, F, V, XW, XY, etc., can leave one dizzy. Bowers' Encyclopedia
is not very helpful in this area.
