Gulbransen Tracking Mechanism
By Les Huth

Hi, I am new to the world of mechanical music (is that the correct
term?). I live in Darwin, Australia, and have not touched a pianola
since I was at my grandparent's place about 40 years ago. The machine
I purchased is a Gulbransen serial number 264605 and plays well.

The trouble I have is with the tracking mechanism. I can get it to
work but I need to have it wired up and need to take off the wire
coming from the mechanism each time I reroll. There seems to be a bit
missing. Does anyone have a photo or drawing of this mechanism that
I might be able to view?

The section involved is from the wire coming from the tracker to the
spring loaded drop arm attached to a spinning friction disc. I hope
this makes sense to someone in the group. I would be gratefull for any
assistance. Thanks generally for this forum. I have found out more
about pianolas in the last few days than I thought was possible.

Regards Les Huth
