Tim,  Don't be tempted to wind up the music box and play it until it
has been checked out by someone with knowledge.  If the governor comes
loose, the considerable energy stored in the spring will probably cause
pins to be broken off the cylinder.

Repinning a music box cylinder was around $100 per inch last time I found
someone willing to do it.
