Ken Smith's Gavioli Organ
By Doug Mauldin

[ Re Marc Elbasani in 020816 MMDigest, "Visiting Band Organ Owners" ]

I, for one, would be interested in buying recordings of Ken Smith's
Gavioli. I heard it in person at a rally in St. Louis some years ago
and was truly impressed. Awed! (And I'm not one to use "awesome"
lightly.) Moved, even.

Alas, Ken no longer takes it on the road, although he does still take
his "Baby Ruth" to rallies. The Ruth is a beautiful organ, but the
Gavioli really blew me away the one time I got to hear it.

Marc, while you're at Ken's why not get enough of the Gavioli for two
or three CDs? I'll bet there would be considerable interest among this
group for such. Right, folks?

On a similar topic, Marc, I've regretted not having gotten in on those
CDs you were producing of the Malone's 165. Is there any chance you
will produce more of those? (Can I get an "amen" out of you-all?)
