Today is "Smiles Day" in Rushville, Illinois.  My piano roll of
"Smiles" and the original sheet music were published earlier in
the year of the original "Smiles Day" which honored returning GIs
from WW1.  Possibly the tune title inspired the day title.  It is
truly an "occasion" when something like the county's biggest holiday
(8 marching bands, etc.) can have a mechanical music connection here
in farm country.
