My father was a research chemist in the early years around asbestos for
Jons-Manville. He worked there about 3 years. Many years later he was
on an award list to receive some settlement money which knowing him, he
either declined or it was a piddlt amount of money. He had no
demonstrable affects although he did smoke about 25 years of his life.
He died at age 90 of nothing other than old age. He would occasionally
comment to me that the asbestos thing was over baked.
