Junk E-mail Problem
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, Just a quick follow-up on Robbie's comment to my posting.
He wrote, "We currently have about 1100 subscribers, so MMDigest might
cost about $5 per year to transmit -- still a bargain price compared
to mailing via the postal service! :-)"

I think it would have been more accurate to say, "We currently have
about 1100 subscribers, so MMDigest might cost about $5 per member per
year to transmit." That still equates to over $4,000 per year.

And let's not forget that the 'one penny per email' is just an
example. Let's say the government charges two or three cents per mail,
then consider what happens if they charge just $0.10 (ten cents) per
email... Ouch!!

My point is simple and direct: Don't encourage the government get
involved! It's a can of worms that once opened will stink for the
rest of time.

Musically,

John A. Tuttle
