Ampico B Roll Tracking Problems
By Jay Albert

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

We are in the process of rebuilding a 1938 5' 9" Chickering
Ampico 'B', and plan to sell our 1927 Fischer Ampico A at some point.
Aside from the big question as to how all the 'A'-coded rolls in our
collection will be performed on the new system (will that 'normal/subdue'
switch be necessary?), we have heard that the 'B' pianos may have a
tendency to shred rolls (we've never had a casualty on the 'A' piano
in 20 years). Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jay Albert
