I met Richard Vance only a few times but I found him to be quite
personable and a man dedicated to his craft.  I am, also, greatly
saddened by his passing.

I would like to suggest, as an appropriate tribute to him, that his
electronic text on how to rebuild the Aeolian Orchestrelle be published
in book form.  I realize that this will be difficult as companies like
the Vestal press no longer exist (as they once did, anyway).  Perhaps
this idea could be financed by contributions from the members of MMD.
I would be willing to take on the organization of this project (in
addition to contributing financially) such that homage can be paid
to this fine man who provided for us, free of charge, an invaluable
reference on the subject of Orchestrelle restoration.
