I too will write and say that I mostly agree with all Rick has said
about the future of Mechanical Music.

I'm 35 and have been working on Mechanical Music Machines since 1991.
Right now I have three kids all under seven!  So right now my shop is
collecting dust!!! I have a number of things waiting restoration right
now.  I don't have any impressive machines, but one day I will.

I have been talking with my wife over that past few months that a
number of collectors are passing away and soon there will be some
really nice machines on the market and fewer potential buyers.  This
situation will make it so someone of a modest income ($37,000 annual)
will be able to purchase something impressive for a not so impressive
price.  I almost feel bad at thinking this way.  Don't think me a grave
robber it's just the nature of our hobby.  Everything has a cycle.  By
the time my kids are gone I'm sure there will be a lot of things around
for sale at good prices.

My wish list: (all items needing restoration so I can afford them.
Believe me if I could afford them I would already have them!!!!)

1. Link with pipes or xylophone
2. Small band organ
3. Orchestrion.  (I love the Mortier jazz flutes)
4. Dance organ!! (and warehouse to display and enjoy it!!! 

Well you get the picture.  Guess I need to figure out how a church
music director can increase his annual salary!!
