Model 38 Ruth Organ in Myrtle Beach, Florida
By William Griswold Jr.

Hello fellow MMDers, I have to ask about my favorite organ in the
world, since I grew up listening to it many times, and it's the first
band organ I ever heard. I saw a photo that would hint to a recent
restoration of the instrument within the last several years -- at least
of the facade.

My biggest concern is whether it is still playing 96-key book music
or if it has been converted to play something else. Does anyone have
any information regarding this? Or can they point me in the direction
I need to turn to get information about it? I think Max was
maintaining it, but I'm not sure. I'm also wondering what will happen
to the organ if in fact the park does get redeveloped.

Here is a link to a photo that I found on the Internet:

It looks like I'll have to plan a trip to Myrtle Beach to hear it after
I return from the Bumbling Bruder Tour.

Musically,

Bill Griswold Jr.
