Internet Auction Fraud
By Eliyahu Shahar

eBay isn't the only type of fraud that I've heard about lately, but
it's a big one. Just a note, however: just because someone isn't in
the USA does not mean that they are fraudulent. I listed my Knabe
for sale on eBay to see if I could get any interest, and I was insulted
by someone accusing me of listing it fraudulently.

Instead of accusing someone of fraud that may be real, check out
the sellers first and, if you believe them to be genuine but they're
selling a big ticket item, insist on using escrow payment. No one
selling fraudulently would agree to it, but anyone genuine on a large
ticket item shouldn't object.
