Criterion Music Box With Coin Drop On Top
By Christian Greinacher

In MMD 050221 Ralph Schultz asked for the coin mechanism of a 14-inch
Criterion. I do not have such an instrument but if Ralph's problem
concentrates on how the push-button-mechanism (and the missing parts
related to it) would have functioned, might be I could contribute to
solve the problem.

Recently I restored a French Café-House-Barrel-Piano with such a coin
plus push-button mechanism where all the parts of the mechanism have
been dismantled, and it was a long-lasting problem to reconstruct how
it worked.

If this is your problem, Ralph, I could email you some drawings which
explain the principle function of that mechanism. That might help you
to reconstruct the mechanism and the missing parts of your instrument.
I would be glad if I could help you!

Greetings from Germany
