Hello MMD,  This week I started the restoration of a 65-note Simplex
piano player which has been waiting in my garage for only a couple of
years.  There are no problems with the instrument that I cannot deal
with, but one thing puzzles me.

The player is mounted on castors which work very well and the
adjustment to put the actuators to the key height is quite obvious.
But what stops the instrument moving about on its castors when in
position?  Obviously something is missing.  Can anyone please supply
details of what this is?

And, remembering a thread that was current some time ago, "things found
inside":  Well, almost the first thing I saw after taking off the main
bits of furniture was a pair of bifocal spectacles down by the equaliser.
By the lack of any scratches on the lenses, these were quite new when
mislaid.  Sadly, I cannot use them as they have large cylinder
correction which I don't need.
