Hi All,  D.L. Bullock's posting brought to mind a question I've always
had about folding player piano bellows.  It's a little difficult to
explain, but perhaps some will get the picture.

Typically, bellows are folded such that the sides of the bellow are
folded inwards along the whole length of the side.  This creates sort
of an 'X' pattern on the front of the bellow and a straight line ----
on the sides.  Occasionally, I find bellows where the straight line
---- is at the front of the bellows.  This method of folding creates
a sideways 'Y' pattern on the sides.

The question is, why would the manufacture fold a bellows in the
unconventional manner?  Is there some advantage (or disadvantage) to
this folding method that I'm missing?
