Brougher at Player-Care that should put to rest the argument that cross
valves were ever a good idea.  However, for the time being, I'd like to

What always concerns me is the future, not the present.  I have
encountered too many situations (some of my own making) where a product
or technique worked great for awhile, only to cause a problem within
a few short years.

One of the beauties of the MMDigest is that we have the opportunity
to openly discuss these sorts of problems and come to some sort of
a resolution concerning how they might be avoided in the future.
Cross valve plates are a glaring example of an idea that, on the
surface, seemed extremely good.  However, unless the instrument into
which they are installed remains stationary for its entire life,
they are, because of the way they were designed, problematic.
