I am planning to visit the Dorset Steam Fair in late August for the
first time.  I would likely visit three days, from Thursday through
Saturday.  Although I've looked at the Fair's Internet site and looked
a some prior postings in MMD, I have a few questions that perhaps
a Dorset veteran can answer.

My plan is to stay at a Hotel or B&B within range of Dorset, such as
Blandford Forum.  The Dorset Internet site lists a few accommodations
that may or may not be available.  Does anyone have a particular
recommendation on a place to stay, either by name or geographic
location?

I would prefer not to rent a car during my stay.  Is there local
transportation or ways to go between the local towns and accommodations
and the Fair?

I would likely be flying into one of the London airports.  Is there
a train line that can take me between an airport and the area near
Dorset where I would likely be staying?

Any thoughts on the above or other helpful random thoughts on Dorset
would be most helpful.
