Visiting The Great Dorset Steam Fair
By William Frisk

I have written a lengthy letter of suggestions especially useful for
North American visitors, too long to waste space here but email me if
you want info and helpful suggestions.

The Great Dorset Steam Fair is way more than fair organs and is much
bigger than any other similar event in the world, although slightly
scaled back from four years ago to allow less crowding on show grounds.

Lots of free live entertainment including Doctor Busker and the Wurzels,
who do not appear in the USA, although the Wurzels did have a USA
charted single. George Harrison attended GDSF for the entertainment.
Best place on earth to buy fair organ CDs; stop in and see John Page
at Fair Organ Preservation Society, they will take VISA too.

Take your Walkman CD player to test the CDs, since it is a real pain to
exchange a defective one from long distances. Many are burned CDs and
may not work in older model players. They are not cheap -- =L=5.00 to
=L=15.00 (almost $30.00) -- but you will not find them in USA.
