FS: Roll Scanning Components
By Charlie Morgan

Hello rollscanners & prospective rollscanners,

About a year ago I purchased almost all of the electronic components to
make a roll scanner using Terry Smythe's design as seen on:

    http://members.shaw.ca/elnore/mk3a.htm

Unfortunately, I'm not going to have the time or energy to put it all
together and make a scanner.

I will take the best offer for all of the following as a lot. I paid
over $400 for all of it.

You will notice that this lot does not include a scanner frame or roll
moving mechanism, or the Dyna A3 CIS Module, which you can easily pick
up on eBay.

Email me with your best offer by Wednesday 06/22/05. Whoever makes the
best offer gets all of this below. I can take PayPal, Visa, MasterCard,
check or money order. Free shipping!

You do get all of the following:

MK3a board (made by Terry), assembled, tested, including its 2
ribbon cables & trim pot, software.

Optical Encoder, US Digital, part no. S2-2048-B

Encoder Connector, US Digital, part no. CA-3934-6FT

    Pick-Off Wheel, McMaster-Carr, part no. 2471K26

Stepper Motor, Jameco, part no. 162026

Stepper Controller, WZ Micro, part no. MD-1

CCFT Lamp, All Electronics, part no. FL-12W

CCFT Inverter, All Electronics, part no. INV-12

PCI LAVA card for LPT2 parallel port

2 MIDI cables for connecting to your computer

    1 serial to MIDI cable

1 male serial to female serial cable

If you've been thinking about building a scanner, this is the stuff you
need, all in one place, and for less than you can get it separately.

[ The above also appeared in the Rollscanners Digest Number 524,
[ where Julie Porter (jporter@delectra.com) appended this note:
  [
[ "A reminder, that I have three or four transport sub-assemblies
[ (scanner frame) for sale too. These capstan scanners are based on
[ our very own IAMMP design perfected by Richard Stibbons and
[ Spencer Chase. The transport parts CNC milled to the drawings
[ provided by Jack Breen. I have nearly $500 invested in each of
[ these transports. Combine with the above and a Dyna A3 CIS
[ module for the best scanner possible. Will sell a kit of parts
[ for $450 an unassembled scanner frame or assembled for $500."
