Regina Feet
By Bill Wineburgh

For Brian Walter:

Original feet for musical boxes are not to be found. There is no new
old stock and, unless you find a similar model (a basket case), you will
need to make a matching foot for your musical box.

I have found wooden spheres at craft stores, like Michaels here in N.J.
They come in various sizes. I cut them to hemispheres to match the
existing feet, stain them to match the case in oak, cherry, or mahogany,
then glue them, normally with a dowel, to the corner of the case, as
were the originals.

For bun-shaped feet, I found wooden drawer pulls (Lowe's, Home Depot,
etc.) of similar diameter and cut the narrow end down to size. Drill
out the metal insert in the drawer pull to accept a dowel, stain to
match, and so on.

When all else fails and nothing similar can be found, I shape a matching
foot on a lathe.

Best of luck,
Bill Wineburgh
