Running Cakewalk Pro 6.0 Under Windows XP
By John Farrell

Ben Roth asked if there was a way to use the excellent Cakewalk 6.0
with XP. When I upgraded to XP several years ago I suffered the same
problem, try as I might I could not get Cakewalk to run so when my
patience eventually became exhausted I solved the problem by throwing
money at it: I bought Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 which is XP compatible.

XP seems to be hostile to musician users; programs which worked
perfectly well with an earlier operating system -- for instance, Encore,
a music notation program which I use a great deal -- also fell victim
to the upgrade. There was no workaround, again I was obliged to
purchase the XP compatible version.

Bill Gates has a lot to answer for; no wonder he has such a huge house
surrounded by cash-stuffed hangars.
