Identifying a 22-key Barrel Organ
By Craig Smith

Hi Todd, Your new organ doesn't look like a Molinari. The corner
brasses are wrong, the inlay on the front is wrong and there would
probably be a decal on the front with the Molinari name.

The seven extra pipes are probably tuned in unison to the seven pipes
in the bottom, probably one octave higher.

The blank areas at each end of the barrel are strange. Take a really
close look at the barrel. The maker's name is usually rubber-stamped
on the paper before the pins are inserted. One French maker is Poirot
Freres of Miracourt.  They have a light cream colored paper wrap too;
I have a similar barrel although the inlay on the organ is a lot
fancier.

Regards
Craig Smith
