I'm working on a "Type 1" Lester.  The 2-inch valve stems are .094"
O.D., not the .078 stems that Durrell Armstrong sells collars for.
For this reason I am intending to be super-careful about taking them
apart, as I wish to re-use the original collars and stems.  I could
buy Durrell's Autopiano collars, .090" I.D., and drill them out .001",
but I'm going to try to use the original stuff, with new facings.

1. What is the safest way to get these valves apart, without bending
the stems or messing up the collars ?

2. What is the safest way to put the collars back on?

3. I also noted a significant lack of "wobble" in these.  How much
wobble should I put back in?

I liked that other fellow's suggestion about leaving off the outside
collar on the outer facing, to increase wobble and aid in adjustabilty.
Any problems with doing that?
