Aeolian Pipe Organ Pedal Octave Functions
By Paul Morris

For what it's worth, I have had experience of three originally wired
Duo-Art 176 note players (and known several more), and it seems to me
that the Pedal 2nd and 3rd Octave couplers were not always fitted.
Two of the three roll players did not have them. I think the rolls
that used these octaves may have been later ones, but cannot confirm
now.

Additionally, my separate cabinet single-roll player has motors and
ladder switches for switching from normal to reverse. Very few rolls
were coded with reverse, but if you try to play one in normal -- well,
look out!

My point being that these players (and to an extent the rolls) were
not altogether standardized.

Regards,
Paul Morris
