Here's something I hope our British MMD readers can shed light on.
Recently I acquired a 1927 Mason & Hamlin CC concert grand Ampico that,
I was told, originally was shipped to London for exhibition.  The piano
was supposed to have been in England until recent years.  Its Ampico
mechanism was removed at an earlier time, but I am hoping that someone
will remember this piano and have some idea where the mechanism might
be, if it survives.

Its parts would resemble a stock Ampico mechanism, except that there
would have been a pair of electric motors to simultaneously drive
a pump with a double flywheel.  The action stack for this piano would
have been the longest of the three lengths Ampico made, probably with
five sections of flange fingers.  It is likely that the drawer was
a regular model A type.  The wooden stack cover and drawer front would
have been finished in ebony lacquer.

Any information about the instrument, whether it was used in concerts
or was privately owned, or the whereabouts of its mechanism would be
greatly appreciated.
