Hi Jim and others, Regarding the rolls you got, there are few
machines that are designed to use the 4X rolls, as the primary
instrument is for single-stroke xylophone whereas the G rolls are
designed for a reiterating xylophone. Outside of some Nelson-Wiggen
instruments, I don't recall if another factory made 4X instruments.
The G rolls are similar enough that they will generally play okay
on a machine made for 4X rolls.

I have a Nelson-Wiggens piano/xylophone that was designed as a 4X
machine but because I have only a few of those rolls I often play
G rolls on it. It's my opinion that the 1st and 2nd instrument
Holes are reversed on the 4X and G rolls but most of the time that
isn't a problem, at least on my N-W which has only the single-stroke
xylophone in addition to the piano.

I have no personal experience with a larger N-W instrument so can't
comment on that.
