In reply to John Farmer's query,  my first player was a 65-note Steck
with the action below the key board.  Being inquisitive, I dismantled
mine within a few weeks of acquiring it.

I assume John just wants to make it lighter for removal and transport
purposes; if so, I discovered on mine that the entire key table was
removable by firstly removing the legs under the key cheeks and then
removing the screws securing the key table to the underside of the
cheeks.  It's then possible to draw the table forward complete with
under action.

Obviously you need to take out the piano action and the spool box
assembly first and there may well be some ancillary components to undo
as well.  I have never been able to do this on any other player and
I don't know weather it was a fluke that this one did.  But it's worth
investigating.  Incidentally, in this stripped-down form, the feeders and
reservoirs were easily accessed.
