Hi All -- All of the several Aeolian player pianos that I've dealt with
have had a rubber-stamped date on the stack.  The two that I can recall
offhand were June, 1919, and June, 1924.  It could be the inspector's
stamp showing that the part had gone through it's tests and was ready,
or else the completion date of the particular component.  On one that
I restored the "stamper" went a little overboard and stamped almost all
the wood parts with the date.

I have also found stamped dates, penciled dates, inspectors' signatures
and the piano company's name stamped on some of the parts as well.
It's always been interesting to me to see the various notations in
different instruments.
