Silent Film Music by J.S. Zamecnik as MIDI Files
By D. L. Bullock

Is anyone interested in silent movie music? This web site contains
MIDI files from the music book "Sam Fox Movie Music Vol. 1", as
well as lots of information from the period concerning movies.

These books were used by many silent movie accompanists. These are
the MIDI equivalent to "Picture Rolls".

Enjoy.

 [
[ "Sam Fox Moving Picture Music, Volume 1 (J.S. Zamecnik, 1913) is
[ a music book for beginning and intermediate pianists who play for
[ silent movies." In the PDF file that accompanies the MIDI files
[ (SamFoxV1.pdf), historian Rodney Sauer observes, "The selections
[ are heavy on 'exotic' and 'hurry' music, since this is the kind
[ of music not found elsewhere in a typical pianist's repertoire."
