Modifying Ampico Grand for MIDI Control
By John McClure

Hi Friends. I so appreciate the explanation of how to use MIDI files
to play on my Yamaha electric piano. I am so impressed with the wealth
of music available I am entertaining the idea of MIDI modifying a later
A model Ampico for MIDI play use, and keep the drawer intact but have
the stack play from MIDI controls and bypass the tracker bar.

I've found a not a treasure Haines Bros. 1927 or so, that I want to play
with as a MIDI toy and have read through the MMD Archives, but haven't
heard of how any projects turned out, where you can buy the parts, and
exactly what you need and approximate cost. I have just a few days to
make a decision as to get the piano, so any help would be most
appreciated.

The other option is a 1930's Chickering grand, never a player, and
I guess some kind of Pianomation fitted (a lot more work and something
new to me, too.) Also, if any used stuff around for a project, let
me know.

Thanks,
John McClure

P.S.: Also, does anyone have a chinoiserie-cased anything piano or
player case out there, red, green or black, for picture copy or sale?
