Capitol "G" Roll G-510 of 1933
By Jack M. Conway

Hi Group, About 10 years ago I thought I was bidding rather
high for rolls I wanted, but I lost. To complete my set of QRS
Christmas Collector rolls I needed XMAS 1984, XMAS 1985, and
XMAS 1986.

Two of them came up in a roll auction. I sat down to send a bid
and thought I would bid $20.00 each. Then I thought, "You really
want these rolls and they virtually never come up in auctions,"
so I changed my bids to $35.00 which I thought was high enough above
their original cost to win.

The auction closed and I didn't hear anything. I contacted the
auction and asked about the rolls and was told I was outbid by $0.25.
I am still missing those rolls and wishing that I had bid higher.
