Chain Sprocket for Western Electric Derby
By Debbie Legg

Thanks to all who responded with information concerning Seeburg/Western
Electric sprockets. As was pointed out, these gears are made from
leather. I thought originally they might be fibre board. The gear
that I had was so gunked up it was hard to tell.

I am now in the process of making two gears. Yesterday I visited
"Strong Leather and Holster Company" in Gloucester, Mass., to see if
they had any suitable leather. They were fascinated with the project
and found a very stiff, strong, scrap of leather for me. This stuff
is tough! If all goes well with this project, I'll post the process.

Thanks again,
Debbie Legg
