Materials For Player Piano Restoration
By Richard Stibbons

I suggest that John Cabrer abandons his plans to use vinyl gloves
for pouch material and goes for bacon and eggs instead.

I've just acquired a Hupfeld Solophonola made in 1912 which has the
famous cushion pouches. These are made from animal gut coated with
egg white and, after 94 years, they are still performing perfectly.

Anyone interested in this project can view a few pictures of the
unrestored instrument at http://www.stibbons.com/mypiano
