Saving Piano Roll Lyrics in Karaoke MIDI Files
By Tom Lear

Hi MMDers, There are now over 60 Karaoke files of piano roll Karaoke
(MIDI) files with lyrics available on Richard Stibbon's Karaoke Page,
http://www.stibbons.com/karaoke.html

A few files are incomplete, lyric-wise, as noted at the site. I'm
currently searching for the complete roll lyrics for "Button Up Your
Overcoat", from "Follow Through" by Buddy DeSylva-Lew Brown-Ray
Henderson. Played by Howard Lutter. Welte #Y-75433.

I have the basic familiar chorus, but there are apparently a couple of
verses on the roll I have never heard that are yet to come to light.
Hopefully some kind and helpful fellow MMDer will be able to provide
same so that I may update the version at the site. :o)

And another currently in the pipeline:

THE LOVE NEST -- QRS 1165
From the George M. Cohen musical "Mary" (1920)
by Louis A. Hirsch - Otto A. Harbach
Played by Victor Arden and Phil Ohman 1920 (scan by Terry Smythe)
(Theme song from the George Burns & Gracie Allen Show)

Just a love nest, cozy and warm,
Like a dove breast, down on the farm,
A veranda with some sort of clinging vine,
  Then a kitchen where some rambler roses twine;

In a small room, tea set of blue,
There's the ball room, dream room for two,
Better than a palace with a gilded dome,
Is the love nest you can call home!

There must be more lyrics on the roll in the way of an intro and
a verse. Thanks in advance.
