Knoebels Amusement Park Reopens After Flood
By Matthew Caulfield

I just received this report on Knoebels Amusement Park's rapid recovery
from last week's flooding, from Dave Wynn, Knoebels' band organ man
among his many other functions there.

Just read your posting on MMD, letting you know that Knoebels reopened
Friday evening at 6:00 with a dozen or so rides, including the Grand
Carousel, and yesterday we had about 40 rides all operational with
more to follow.

There was minimum damage to organs; the big carousel had about a foot
of water, the Frati organ about 18" up the facade, but none in the
organ itself. The Stein and Goldstein organ was jacked up, then rescued
about 11:00 PM Tuesday night with a long forked Dynalift, so it has been
resting behind the Phoenix in one of the maintenance shops.

The ticket booth for the big carousel was last seen floating by Playland,
and is reportedly several miles away in basically wrecked condition, so
that was not so good.

Keep you posted!
Dave Wynn
