A Rube Goldberg "Quick Fix" -- Several years ago, I saw an ad in the
newspaper for an organ.  Upon arriving at the house I was told the
organ was not working completely.  To my surprise this was not only
an organ but a Princess Aeolian player pump organ.

Given permission, I took the back off the organ and where there should
have been two belts (one for playing the rolls and one for rewind)
I found that someone had replace the belts with cloth covered copper
wire made into the form of loops.  Needless to say I bought the organ
"broken", got it home and replaced the wire with leather belts.  It is
a beautiful rosewood Princess Aeolian (46 notes).
