Problem With Corrosive Leather Nuts
By John Page

I have worked with leather nuts (called buttons in the UK) for over
thirty years with no corrosion problems. The buttons were supplied by
Kimber-Allen of Swanley, UK. However, could it be that the corrosion
problem arises only if the suspect nuts are used with steel wires? I
always use rolled-thread phosphor bronze wires.

Regards,
John Page,
