Seek Sheet Music "Over the Top"
By Vic Searle

When I built my first 165 band organ, I purchased the roll frame from
Mechanical Music Systems in Lubbock, Tex. Along with the frame came an
unidentified roll. I later found out that it was cut by Bacigalupi.
One of the pieces, "Over the Top," was a rather short march, but very
snappy.

I searched far and wide for a copy of the music so I could play it with
my high school band. I should have transcribed it before I sold the
organ. But I didn't, thinking I could get the music from Carl Fischer,
who published hundreds of marches in the early part of the twentieth
century, but they never heard of it.

Now I have no idea where the organ went, but I still want to get the
music. Does anyone know of this march, its composer, or publisher, or
have a copy of the score? The boys in my band would love to play this,
as I have told them how much I like it.

[ The Levy sheet music website (http://levysheetmusic.mse.jhu.edu)
[ knows of several marches titled "Over the Top," but your connection
[ of it with Wurlitzer 165 music makes me feel that the march you want
[ is the military march composed in 1917 by Geoffrey O'Hara and issued
[ by Wurlitzer on roll 6512.
