Seek Duo-Art Rolls by Manuel Maria Ponce, of Mexico
By Albert Petrak

The heirs of Mexican composer, Manuel Maria Ponce, seek the help of MMD
readers in locating the six Duo-Art recordings which Sr. Ponce made in
the second decade of the twentieth century. They are:

6294: Cuando vene la primavera (From "Romantic Pieces", No. 2 (6/20)
  5807: Cuban Serenade (9/l6)
5937: Cuban Song (Sono mi mente-loca) (Arranged by Ponce) (3/18)
  5789: Barcarolla mexicana (6/16)
  5924: Mexican Serenade (9/17)
  5930; Nocturne - "Moonlight" (2/18)

The date after each listing is the release date shown in the Duo-Art
Catalog.

Under the general supervision of Prof. Raul Herrera, of Ohio State
University, two young relatives are seeking the actual rolls, if
possible, but MIDI versions, if not.

Please contact Edgar Herrera at edgar_symphony@yahoo.com.geentroep
[deleting .geentroep] if you can help provide what is needed, and to
make necessary arrangements.
