Converting ArtEcho System to Play Ampico Rolls
By Larry Norman

Hi Randy & readers of the MMD, Before converting a nice Art Echo,
why not try to get rolls? There are plenty of Ampico pianos and
rolls in the world, but less of the Art Echo/Apollo. Besides, the
Art Echo/Apollo music library is rather nice and there are a lot of
rolls that were made for the Art Echo/Apollo that are not available
on the other systems. What a shame it would be to convert this over
and find a fantastic collection of Art Echo/Apollo rolls?

In fact, to start you off, I have several very nice Art Echo/Apollo
rolls on my current music roll auction. You can visit my music roll
auction at http://home.earthlink.net/~rollertunes

Also, there are other people at times offering Art Echo/Apollo rolls on
their auctions. Bennet Leedy at times has some great Apollo/Art Echo
rolls. Visit his site at http://www.pianorollcenter.com/auction.htm

I also believe that Robin Pratt is trying to put together a recutting
project on Art Echo/Apollo rolls and you will have a wonderful chance
at having a fantastic library of rolls and you will never regret
keeping it as an Art Echo/Apollo.

So, I hope you reconsider and keep the piano as an Art Echo. I think
if you ever had the opportunity to hear one of these great reproducers
perform and listen to some of the rolls that are only available on
the Art Echo/Apollo system, I am sure that you would never consider
changing it.

Musically,
Larry Norman, from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
The colors of the leaves on the trees are now at their glory!
Come down and see us!
