Welte-Mignon Vorsetzer Disassembly
By Randolph Herr

I am looking at a possible rebuilding of a Red Welte Vorsetzer that was
imported from Europe. Those fiendish Germans did not use any rubber
tubing at all in this machine; the brass tubes run from the wooden
tracker bar down into the stack, and every other tube is brass as well.

It would be one thing to unscrew a wood block that the metal tubes run
into, so that the mechanism behind it can be detached. In the case of
this Vorsetzer, not even one tube goes to a removable wood block, so
I have stopped the disassembly.

I am wondering if anyone out there has had experience with this kind of
mechanism and can provide help on how to take this thing apart without
damage. It's no problem for me to email good quality photos to anyone
interested. Thanks in advance.
