Violin Accompaniment Rolls arranged by Burmester
By John Phillips

Hello MMD. For a long time I have owned a Hupfeld piano roll,
No. a 50909. It's the piano accompaniment to a violin piece,
a Gavotte by Rameau, arranged by Willy Burmester. This violinist
arranged a suite of such pieces; they are called "Stücke alter
Meister (Pieces by Ancient Masters)". Recently I decided to try
to find the sheet music for the Rameau Gavotte. After all, there
isn't much point in playing an accompaniment roll without a violinist
to go with it. After poking around the Web for a while I stumbled
on a site in the U.S. operated by a lady who mostly sells Country
and Western, but she also had some Burmester music.

Murphy's Law being as it is, she doesn't have the piece I want
but she does have a Burmester arrangement of Beethoven's "Menuett
in G". Hupfeld made an accompaniment roll of that too; it's No.
a 55718. This is a one-in-a-million query, but does anybody have
this roll and would they like to sell it?

Alternatively, does anyone have a suggestion about finding the sheet
music to the Rameau piece? It's Vol. 1, No. 3 of the "Pieces by
Ancient Masters". I don't much want to have to buy the sheet music
for the whole set.
