Bob,  In response to your post of Nov. 20, I have now reviewed our
roll and it is just like yours: there is an extended note with no
break.  In listening to the entire stanza or section of the roll,
I am confident that this was what Mr. Gibson intended as the entire
section is emphatically legato.  There is never a break of any kind but
only continual music.  This is the effect that he wanted to produce,
I believe, and his playing is especially effective in so doing, in
my opinion.
