Lights Inside a Coin Piano
By Terry Smythe

I have a Cremona Style 3 nickelodeon that has clear bevelled plate
windows both top and bottom, somewhat of a rarity in nickelodeons.
When the instrument is playing, a pair of original Edison carbon
filament bulbs light up the upper and lower actions.

Both upper and lower actions have received a cosmetic restoration,
so that when illuminated during play, the effect is quite startling
and always engaging. Visitors love to see all the mechanism at work
in full view. And these rare bulbs always seem to provoke amazement.

These two Edison carbon filament bulbs have been in place and operating
since 1968 at which time I did the restoration. It still plays up
a storm.
