Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Wurlitzer 165
By Dave Bowers

Hi from Dave Bowers -- I note the info from Lou Davenport includes
some American International Galleries recordings. A.I.G. was a lot of
fun for the owners (Bonnie Tekstra, me, and the late Claes O. Friberg)
and had "stuff" that would be very difficult for anyone to acquire for
inventory today. It's Bonnie's birthday tomorrow, February 26th; I'll
copy her on this (her e-mail is <btekstra46@hotmail.com>).

As to the Wurlitzer 165, I bought this years ago, in the early 1980s,
from Mike Roberts of Lafayette, California, whose business was
publishing high quality color postcards. Mike liked unusual things,
and from the Whitney family [Playland-On-The-Beach] had an early claim
on things that were being deaccessioned.

Some of you may remember that years earlier, Hathaway & Bowers (Terry
Hathaway and me) bought the Cliff House collection; earlier I had
bought the Sutro Baths collection next to the Cliff House (on the
left). Among other things there were three Seeburg H orchestrions
there!

Best wishes to all,
Dave Bowers
