Hydrophane Leather Dressing for Pouches
By Pat DeWitt

Dear MMDers, Based on past recommendations from our UK members,
I was able to get some Hydrophane and have experimented with using
it for pouch sealing. It is excellent and results in the pouch
being absolutely flexible and virtually airtight! However, it does
penetrate the pouch all over including the glued areas around the rim.
So the big question:

Does Hydrophane cause either hide glue or PVCE to loosen the pouch's
attachment to the wooden substrate that the pouch is glued to?
Are there any special precautions to be used in this regard? Also,
with respect to bleed hole size, can a pouch be too airtight? Pouches
treated with Hydrophane are really airtight.

Thanks
Pat DeWitt
